I recently raced the Midlands XC Midlands Championship where I won the Elite Women's category! It was a very tough race with a long 9km course. After the first lap I knew I wouldn't be able to sustain the pace I was going for 4 laps, I had a big gap so I settled down into an easier pace. During the race I was told I was going to race for 1 less lap than planned, which was annoying as I had paced for a longer race. It didn't affect my result but I would've raced differently. On the podium I won a cool log as a trophy which had previously been won by some very good cyclists.
I raced the National road Junior and U23 series in Witham. On first look of the course I didn't think it would have suited me with lots of short punchy climbs. During the race I found I was moving up on the climbs rather than backwards like normal. 3 riders got away and I rolled in with the bunch finishing 9th U23. Next time I will have the confidence in my current form to attack and make a move to improve my result.
