This month, I have gone back to work in my local restaurant after 4 months off due to lockdown. With the new eat out to help out scheme it has been really busy which has been tiring, especially with the increased amount of training I have been doing. I am continuing to improve on the bike and I'm happy with the progress I'm making. I can't wait for my first race post-covid!
This week I did my longest ever ride to the beach and back. We started at 9pm and rode through the night for to arrive at the sea in time for sunrise. Riding through the night was fun because there weren't any cars about and we played music to sing to. We were lucky to have a support van which provided food and clothes throughout the ride. After 5 hours of riding we made it to the sea in time for the sunrise. After watching the sunrise, we started the long ride home, I started to struggle riding home as the fatigue set in and we were riding into a headwind. I kept pushing and finally made it home feeling exhausted. In total I rode 272km (170miles), it was an amazing experience and I would definitely do it again!
