January, 2022
So December was full of disappointment with trips being cancelled due to travel regulation changes and then I got ill! With me suffering multiple illnesses during the Autumn and not really recovering I decided with my coach to take a big break break from cycling to allow my body to reset. I have been selected to join the Great Britain Cycling Team for Mountain Biking and I have a full calendar for the summer with training camps and races so next week I am back on the bike and training is in full swing!
Well December was meant to be a good month with two rounds of the National Cyclocross Trophy to race and a GB call up to go to Belgium to race in Namur plus a Christmas racing block in Belgium but it didn't work out that way. This season I have been hit by cold after cold but still managed to dodge Covid and although my national results have not been what I have aimed for (4th & 5th) due to me not being 100% fit I was still looking forward to the experience of another trip away with Team GB and then a week of racing in Belgium but it was just not meant to be. With the changes in the travel restrictions overseas, Team GB had to cancelled the trip and so did my family as there was so much uncertainty.
