I have continued my daily zoom training sessions with my coach to work on my fitness. I am
looking forward to being back on court on the 12th April.
I have continued doing the daily zoom
fitness sessions during lockdown with my coach and 2 extra England online training sessions.
I am looking forward to being back on the badminton court soon and getting ready for Nationals.
During this lockdown, I have been doing daily zoom sessions with my coach and 2 other players.
My coach has been working on all aspects of my fitness so that once the lockdown ends I can get back on court with a high level of fitness.
I have also been doing 2 extra zoom sessions each week that the Badminton England coaches have been doing each week to keep players motivated whilst not being allowed on court.
Hopefully this lockdown will end soon so I can get back on court and back to school.
I have been training hard with my coaches and have continued to improve both my game and fitness.
During December I was still not allowed to go to my weekly training session at Badminton England due to tier restrictions.
I was due to attend England training in Sheffield on the 29th December but unfortunately that was cancelled due to the snow. This was then followed by the news of the Tier 4 restrictions which meant my last day on court was the 30th December.
I will now be back to doing Zoom sessions to keep my fitness levels up for when I can get back on court.
Due to the 2nd lockdown I have been unable to train on a badminton court.
I have been doing daily zoom sessions Monday to Friday with my coach. These sessions have been a combination of HIIT, running, skipping, pylometrics training, shadow work, racket skills, strength and conditioning and stretching.
I have also been doing 2 zoom sessions a week with England Coaches on a Tuesday and Thursday.
All this fitness work has been keeping me busy during lockdown but I am looking forward to getting back on court this week.
I have been training hard with my coaches on court and working really hard on my fitness.
I am enjoying my once a week training at the National Badminton Centre with England Coaches Kat Hurrell and Julia Quinn.
This month at the England Junior Apprentice Training I have had the chance to work with 2 senior singles players Abigail Holden and Grace King. They have both taught me a lot and passed on their knowledge for me to improve my game.
Thank you to Leicestershire and Rutland for the support.
I have been training with my coaches regularly on court and meeting up with my doubles partner so we can train together. I have been following my fitness, strength and conditioning programme so I am feeling fitter and ready to compete.
I have also recently been invited by Badminton England to train at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes on the junior apprentice programme once a week. This programme is invite only and is offered to selected players around the country. I feel really grateful that I have been selected and I'm enjoying and learning lots from the sessions.
I am finally now back on court training hard with my coaches. A big thanks to Loughborough University for opening their facilities allowing me to go back on court. Still too many leisure centres either haven't opened or have not opened their badminton courts. As well as training hard on court, I have also been attending David Lloyd and training hard in the gym and doing lots of swimming to keep my fitness levels up. I have no idea when I will be back competing but I am training hard so that I am ready when tournaments restart.
I am still working hard on my daily training at home and meeting up with my coach outdoors. Although a date has been set for the reopening of indoor sports facilities it is still a long way off until I can get back on court. This is due to leisure centres using the sports halls for the gym equipment and exercise classes.
